The talented, energetic and inspiring Marija will be teaching this class and, you really get you money's worth with this gal!
Students will do a practice piece before starting a large block that will be made into a pillow cover. Practice fabric and patterns will be supplied but, each student will get to use their own fabrics for the pillow. Our pattern is inspired by this one shown on Wombat Quilts. Cath also has a page with links to free paper-piecing patterns — to give you an idea of motifs you could do after learning this technique.
Most importantly, sign up for this class so you can join the fun – starting very soon!
I happen to like some of the cute, whimsical animal patterns offered up by independent sellers like this cute raccoon from Pieces by Number. Modern star motifs really catch my eye too. Follow this board on Pinterest to see what other motifs and patterns catch my eye. Most importantly, do sign up for this class so you can join the fun – starting soon!
This Winter, we offered our very first modern quilting class for beginners (more on that a little later). Next up, is a great little technique + project class that features paper-piecing — a wonderful way to use up small bits of fabric and not have to buy much in the way of special rulers or tools.
Yup, yarn is back at Elmwood Village Fabrics but, this time, it's in the form of a pop-up-shop from Embraceable Ewe. Shop-owner and knitter-extraordinaire, Erin will be changing out the yarn selections every few weeks so, stop in often and get it when you see it. She even brings in knitted samples, pattern selections and needles.
